Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, in collaboration with Cinnamon Nature Trails and Seylan Bank, has announced the return of its flagship wildlife experience, The Gathering of Giants, to be held from 25–27 July 2025 at the Cinnamon Habarana Complex.

Now in its third edition, the event offers curated access to Asia’s largest wild elephant gathering in Minneriya and Kaudulla National Parks, with a focused push to attract Indian experiential and nature-focused travellers. Timed around a long weekend in India, the event is expected to draw significant regional interest across leisure, family and niche wildlife segments.

Hosted at Cinnamon Lodge Habarana and Habarana Village by Cinnamon, the three-day programme blends conservation, education and immersive excursions, with expert-led sessions by renowned wildlife professionals including BBC’s Noah Falklind, elephant researcher Dr. Prithiviraj Fernando and ornithologist Prof. Sampath Seneviratne.

“This event continues to strengthen Cinnamon’s positioning as a conservation-forward hospitality brand,” said Hishan Singhawansa, CEO Designate, Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts. “It reflects our long-term strategy to deliver purpose-led experiences for a growing segment of responsible travellers, especially from India.”

With over 35 active conservation and community engagement programmes, Cinnamon aims to foster deeper connections between guests and Sri Lanka’s ecological heritage while supporting sustainable tourism growth.
