Tourism Malaysia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Singapore Airlines to strengthen tourism promotion and improve connectivity between Malaysia and Singapore. The agreement was formalised in May 2026 at The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
The collaboration aims to position Malaysia as a preferred destination by leveraging Singapore Airlines’ extensive global network across Europe, Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. The partnership is also expected to support Malaysia’s tourism and aviation recovery while enhancing regional hub connectivity through Singapore.
Director General of Tourism Malaysia, Mohd Amirul Rizal Abdul Rahim, said the partnership comes at a crucial time as the country intensifies preparations for Visit Malaysia 2026. He added that the collaboration will help boost Malaysia’s visibility in key international markets through joint campaigns and strategic promotional initiatives aimed at increasing quality tourist arrivals.

Louis Leonard Arul, Regional Vice President South East Asia at Singapore Airlines, highlighted that the partnership reflects the airline’s commitment to supporting Malaysia’s tourism growth. He noted that targeted overseas campaigns will showcase Malaysia’s cultural heritage, hospitality and natural attractions to global travellers.
The MoU, valid for one year from May 2026, is expected to further strengthen tourism momentum between both nations into 2027.
